bealls is a privately held company, owned by the founding family and its employees. The store began in 1987 as the idea of E.R. Beall, son of Bealls Department store founder, Robert M. Beall, Sr. The new chain opened as Bealls Outlets in Florida with three locations, quickly adding more across the state, as well as 2 new locations in Arizona.
